Pro-Biafra Protests Hit Ukraine

The Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) in Ukraine (a country in Eastern Europe) took their protest to Nigeria Embassy and International Amnesty in Kiev.

Just as protest is currently going on in other part of the world, it is as well hitting and shaking the entirety of Biafra land.
Protesters are demanding the release of a detained radio station chief who advocates restoration of Biafra state and its independence from Nigeria.

People carried placards with slogans such as “Free Nnamdi Kanu” and waved the Biafran flag – a golden rising sun on red, black and green.
Nnamdi Kanu, director of Radio Biafra, was arrested in October by the Department of State Services. Media reports say Kanu was charged with offenses related to his station’s broadcasts.
A civil war over the self-styled Republic of Biafra ended in 1970, but the cause, which has persisted for decades and stays a sensitive issue, has seen a recent revival.

Ukraine does not take kindly to Russian President Vladimir Putin and separatism moves that have been hitting the country since 2014.
From the end of February 2014, demonstrations by pro-Russian and anti-government groups took place in major cities across the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine.
